Main Scenario
00:00 -Preparation-
When I look at myself in the mirror in the bedroom, I’m surprised to see my own face.
My eyes stared at me coldly, my cheeks sunken, and my face looked pale. Maybe because I haven’t slept properly at all during the last 3 months.
But I’m glad I could make it in time. Now my 10 years long preparation has completed.
I’ve succeeded in equipping the castle with a magic barrier, and I’ve finished writing the book about controlling magic.
Time passed by in a blink of an eye. I’m truly glad I made it.
I tried smiling softly in front of the mirror, but all I could make out was an eerie smile. As if I’m looking down on something.
I looked like I was being possessed by a demon.
Just before, I said some hurtful words towards the rest of the race representatives.
But the thing I promised them to be slumbered in the Holy City of Kataliah was never there to begin with.
Thinking about it like that, I may as well have deceived them for all those 10 years.
I moved from the bedroom to the throne room.
Behind me, Lily is trying to enter the bedroom without making a sound.
As expected, she was still determined to search for the magic book.
I pretended I didn’t notice and waited for her to get inside.
I have put the thing you’re looking for inside.
I’m sure you will find it soon.
Lily, I believe your magic can save everyone.
After I closed the bedroom door, the door to the throne room was knocked.
00:10 -Drago-
Drago appeared from behind those doors.
Drago quickly asked me,
“Do you have no intention to reconsider your choice?”
I replied him with a stern and cold tone
“Of course not.
I’m sure you realize it too. There’s no proper order on this continent.
That is why I need power to conquer them all.”
00:20 -Flashback-
“It seems you have changed, after all.
I come here to fulfill the promise I made with you 10 years ago.”
Shortly after he said that, his sharp claw dug into my chest.
Amidst my fading consciousness,
I remembered a certain memory I shared with Stan.
O Stan,
why did you think I did this reckless gamble?
Did you remember? 10 years ago, you talked so passionately about your dreams to me.
You said you wanted to see all 5 races take each other's hand and live in harmony.
Yet hearing your earnest wish, all I could do at that time was to make a forced smile.
People called me the “King of Salvation,” but I could do nothing to answer your wish.
Stan, I never revealed this to you,
but I actually have the same ability as you.
Yes, the “Foresight.” But there’s one thing different about mine.
The “future” I saw with my “Foresight” is an absolute future.
Even if I do everything in my power to change it, it will never make a difference.
10 years ago, when I made the deal with the demon of Kataliah,
I saw it.
In my head, visions of all 5 races representatives took each other’s hand and worked together to achieve something flashed in my head.
But in those images, I wasn’t there.
That means, when those images become a reality in the future, I have already parted with this world.
If I let the demon here as it is, maybe other people will come and make the deal instead. Those people could very well have malice intentions.
I didn’t want the future generations to bear the responsibility of defeating it.
And you see, I also feel sorry for this little “demon.”
I wanted to save it too.
Drago, I’m sorry to have made you bear a hard responsibility.
But if the memories of me disappear, your guilt will surely disappear along with me.
No one will ever remember me anymore, but that is okay.
If it's to make all 5 races of the Lispia continent unite with each other, that is a small price for me to pay.
I have truly lived a most wonderful life.
Stan, Val, Marine, Drago, Lily…
I leave the future of this continent in your hands.
Drago pulled his claw from my back.
Pools of blood started to thicken below me, my consciousness fading away.
In that instant, I suddenly foresee Drago’s “future.”
In that future, the stone-faced Drago is making a smile, one that I’ve never seen before.
Seeing that, my lips curled into a warm smile for the last time.
Uhh… So yeah, there’s that.
Ya see, I dunno much about this guy.
But yeah, he truly died a happy man.
At least that's what I thought.
Huh? Why did I go so far to show you this, you ask?
Dunno, but eh, it’s fine, right?
I’m a demon born out of evil wishes of humans.
Never would have thought I could go to heaven like this after I died
So, uh…
See, he’s a good man. Anyone could see that.
And it just feels very lonely if no one could remember a guy like that existed.
Thanks, Eida.
You really did save me.
The people in this country, and all the race representatives won’t gonna remember you.
And of course, they shouldn’t.
That’s why, O gods.
I want you guys to at least remember this dude.
Well then, I should be going too.
Can’t let that old geezer do reckless things like this even in heaven.
And so the “demon” quietly vanishes from your vision.
